गडचिरोली/ हेडरी: लॉयड्स काली अम्मल मेमोरियल हॉस्पिटल (एलकेएएमएच), हेडरी में एक उच्च जोखिम वाली त्रिगर्भावस्था का सफलतापूर्वक प्रबंधन करते हुए आपातकालीन सिजेरियन ऑपरेशन के माध्यम से तीन समयपूर्व नवजात शिशुओं का सुरक्षित जन्म कराया गया।
मां, जिसकी उम्र 32 वर्ष है और वह मांगेर गांव की निवासी हैं, ने मार्च 2026 में पहली बार एलकेएएमएच अस्पताल में परामर्श लिया था। इसके बाद वह पूरी गर्भावस्था के दौरान नियमित प्रसवपूर्व चिकित्सा देखरेख में रहीं। अल्ट्रासाउंड जांच में गर्भ में तीन शिशुओं की पुष्टि हुई, जिसके कारण यह गर्भावस्था उच्च जोखिम वाली मानी गई और इसमें निरंतर एवं विशेष निगरानी की आवश्यकता थी।
11 अगस्त को हल्के पेट दर्द और कमर के निचले हिस्से में दर्द होने के बाद उन्हें अस्पताल में भर्ती कराया गया। अस्पताल में भर्ती रहने के दौरान डॉक्टरों की टीम ने नियमित अल्ट्रासाउंड, भ्रूण की हृदय गति की निगरानी तथा अन्य आवश्यक जांचों के माध्यम से मां और तीनों शिशुओं की लगातार निगरानी की। संभावित समयपूर्व प्रसव को ध्यान में रखते हुए शिशुओं के फेफड़ों के विकास के लिए आवश्यक दवाएं दी गईं। साथ ही, आपातकालीन शल्य चिकित्सा की संभावना को देखते हुए रक्त की भी अग्रिम व्यवस्था की गई।
मां और उनके परिवार के सदस्यों को गर्भावस्था की उच्च जोखिम वाली स्थिति, समयपूर्व प्रसव की संभावना तथा नवजात शिशुओं को विशेष देखभाल की आवश्यकता पड़ने के संबंध में नियमित रूप से परामर्श दिया गया।
21 अगस्त को की गई आगे की जांच में शिशुओं के रक्त संचार और हृदय गति में चिंताजनक बदलाव दिखाई दिए, जो गर्भ में शिशुओं को संभावित परेशानी का संकेत थे। प्रसव में देरी से होने वाले जोखिमों को देखते हुए चिकित्सकों की टीम ने तत्काल आपातकालीन सिजेरियन ऑपरेशन करने का निर्णय लिया।
गर्भावस्था के 32 सप्ताह और 5 दिन पूरे होने पर मात्र तीन मिनट के अंतराल में तीनों शिशुओं का सुरक्षित जन्म कराया गया। पहली शिशु, एक बालिका, जिसका वजन 1.360 किलोग्राम था, का जन्म रात 9:25 बजे हुआ। इसके बाद दूसरी बालिका, जिसका वजन 1.186 किलोग्राम था, का जन्म रात 9:26 बजे हुआ। तीसरे शिशु, एक बालक, जिसका वजन 1.530 किलोग्राम था, का जन्म रात 9:27 बजे हुआ।
समयपूर्व जन्म और कम वजन के कारण तीनों नवजात शिशुओं को तत्काल अस्पताल की विशेष नवजात देखभाल इकाई में स्थानांतरित किया गया, जहां उनकी गहन निगरानी, उपचार और आवश्यक चिकित्सा देखभाल की जा रही है। वर्तमान में तीनों शिशु नवजात देखभाल टीम की निगरानी में स्वस्थ हैं।
मां ने आपातकालीन शल्य चिकित्सा को सफलतापूर्वक सहन किया और ऑपरेशन के बाद उनकी स्थिति चिकित्सकीय रूप से स्थिर रही। उन्हें आवश्यक ऑपरेशन-पश्चात उपचार और देखभाल दी जा रही है।
इस आपातकालीन प्रसव का सफलतापूर्वक प्रबंधन दो स्त्री रोग विशेषज्ञों, दो एनेस्थेसियोलॉजिस्ट और दो बाल रोग विशेषज्ञों की समन्वित बहु-विषयक टीम द्वारा किया गया। ऑपरेशन थिएटर, नर्सिंग और नवजात देखभाल टीम ने भी इस प्रक्रिया में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाई।
नियमित प्रसवपूर्व जांच, अस्पताल में भर्ती के दौरान निरंतर निगरानी, चेतावनी संकेतों की समय पर पहचान और त्वरित चिकित्सा हस्तक्षेप ने मां और तीनों शिशुओं के सुरक्षित परिणाम में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाई।

Successful Delivery of Triplets at LKAMH Hospital, Hedri

Lloyds Kali Ammal Memorial Hospital (LKAMH), Hedri, successfully managed a high-risk triplet pregnancy, resulting in the safe delivery of three premature babies through an emergency Caesarean section.
The 32-year-old mother from Manger village first visited LKAMH Hospital in March 2026 and remained under regular antenatal care throughout her pregnancy. An ultrasound examination confirmed that she was carrying triplets, making it a high-risk pregnancy requiring close and continuous monitoring.
On August 11, she was admitted to the hospital after experiencing mild abdominal and lower-back pain. During her hospitalisation, the medical team closely monitored the mother and babies through regular ultrasound examinations, fetal heart-rate monitoring and other necessary investigations. Medicines were administered to support the babies’ lung development in anticipation of a possible premature delivery, while blood was also arranged in advance considering the possibility of an emergency surgical intervention.
The mother and her family were regularly counselled regarding the high-risk nature of the pregnancy, the possibility of premature delivery and the potential need for specialised newborn care.
On August 21, further examination revealed concerning changes in the babies’ blood circulation and heart rates, indicating possible distress inside the womb. Considering the risks associated with delaying delivery, the medical team immediately decided to perform an emergency Caesarean section.
At 32 weeks and five days of pregnancy, all three babies were safely delivered within a span of just three minutes. The first baby, a girl weighing 1.360 kg, was delivered at 9:25 PM, followed by the second baby, also a girl weighing 1.186 kg, at 9:26 PM. The third baby, a boy weighing 1.530 kg, was delivered at 9:27 PM.
As the babies were premature and had low birth weights, they were immediately shifted to the hospital’s special newborn care unit for close observation, treatment and necessary medical support. All three babies are currently doing well under the supervision of the neonatal-care team.
The mother tolerated the emergency surgery well and remained clinically stable following the procedure. She continues to receive appropriate postoperative treatment and supportive care.
The emergency delivery was successfully managed by a coordinated multidisciplinary team comprising two obstetricians, two anaesthesiologists and two paediatricians, with the support of the operation theatre, nursing and newborn-care teams.
Regular antenatal follow-up, close monitoring during hospitalisation, early recognition of warning signs and prompt medical intervention played a crucial role in ensuring a safe outcome for the mother and her three babies.
